Curry Wins Charleston County Democratic Primary for Probate Judge
Tamara Curry on Tuesday was declared the winner in her Democratic Primary race for Charleston County Probate Judge by a large margin. She will face incumbent Irv Condon in the November general election.
Curry has served as Associate Probate Judge for Charleston County for the last 22 years and is the first African American to be president of the College of Probate Judges.
She made the following statement after the primary results were official:
“I’m very grateful to the voters for this big win. We worked hard and didn’t leave any stone unturned. I’m looking forward to now focusing on the election in November. This election will be about which candidate can lead this office into the future. It will be about which candidate can modernize the office to make it more accessible to the public, which candidate will best advocate for our senior citizens, and which candidate will always put Charleston’s families first. I look forward to making my case this Fall.”
