Top 5 Three-Point Shooters In NBA Playoff History
These Players Never Seemed To Miss…
In the 2022 NBA playoffs, we have seen some amazing three-pointers being scored.
They have the tendency to turn the tide on a game. They are exciting to watch. And they require skill to be executed time after time.
Three-pointers get even more impressive when you start looking at players’ career statistics. Many big names have taken thousands of three-pointers throughout their career.
Today, we are going to take a deeper dive into these statistics.
When it comes to three-pointers, there are three statistics to keep an eye on – (1) three-pointers attempted, (2) three-pointers made, and, (3) three-point shot percentage.
Today, we are going to look at who holds records in those latter two categories.
If you are interested in the shots being made in the playoffs or any sport in general, check out these sports odds.
Most Three-Point Shots Made
#5 – Kyle Korver
Shots attempted – 5715
Shots made – 2450
Korver is an NBA champion who played for quite a few teams during his NBA career. He spent the longest time with the Atlanta Hawks with whom he won the NBA Finals.
As well as being 5th on this list, he is 10th overall on three-point shot percentage.
#4 – Reggie Miller
Shots attempted – 6486
Shots made – 2560
Miller is a 5-time NBA champion who spent his entire career playing for the Indiana Pacers. He is an Olympic gold medal winner.
In 1994, he became a part of the 50-40-90 club (50% field goal percentage, 40% three-point field goal percentage, and 90% free throw percentage).
Miller led the league in three-pointers for five different seasons.
#3 – James Harden Jr (Active)
Shots attempted – 7176
Shots made – 2593
Harden is the first still-active player on this list, so expect his numbers to go up before he retires. However, he would have to score 600 more three-pointers and hope #1 on this list doesn’t score anymore if he wants to take the top spot.
Harden has just transferred to the 76ers, so expect him to start reshaping that team this season.
#2 – Ray Allen
Shots attempted – 7429
Shots made – 2973
Hall of Famer Ray Allen is a 2-time NBA champion and 10-time All-Star. He won three gold medals with Team USA and sat happily at the top of this list until 2021.
In one NBA Finals quarter alone Allen scored 5 three-pointers. He still holds the record for most field goals attempted, but he might lose that too if #1 doesn’t retire soon.
#1 – Stephen Curry (Active)
Shots attempted – 7290
Shots made – 3117
If you follow the NBA closely, it won’t shock you to see Stephen Curry at the top of this list.
No one ever suspected that we would see a player make over 3000 three-pointers in their career. It is a testament to Curry’s accuracy that he holds this record but not most three-pointers attempted.
Highest Three-Point Shot Percentage
We have limited this list to players who have attempted more than 1000 three-pointers. There are a lot of players who have attempted 1 and scored 1.
#5 – Dražen Petrović
43.74%
Petrovic was a Yugoslav and Croatian player who spent 20 years playing for the best teams in Europe before moving to the NBA.
He played for the Trail Blazers and the Nets.
#4 – Joe Harris (Active)
43.90%
Harris currently plays for the New York Nets and has led the league in three-pointer accuracy for 2 years. He did this in 2018 to 2019, as well as in 2021 to 2022.
Harris just took over as franchise record holder for most three-pointers scored at the Nets. This season, he set a career best of 47.50%.
#3 – Stephen Curry (Active)
43.95%
You’re probably not shocked to see Stephen Curry on this list as well. He really is in a different league to everyone else when it comes to taking shots from the three-point line.
He is a 3-time NBA champion, 8-time All-Star, and he was the MVP of the All-Star game this year.
He also won the three-pointer contest in 2015 and 2021. Despite this, he has never led the league in three-pointer accuracy – but he has been incredibly consistent throughout his 13 years (so far) career.
#2 – Hubert Davis
44.09%
Davis played as a shooting guard in the NBA from 1992 to 2004. During this time he played for 6 different teams. He scored a total of 728 three-pointers during his career. He attempted 1,651 three-pointers in total.
While Davis never one any silverware in the NBA, his shooting ability left a huge mark on the league. Only Stephen Kerr ever did better than him.
#1 – Stephen “Steve” Kerr
45.50%
Kerr played in the NBA from 1988 to 2003 and will go down in history as one of the greatest three-point shooters of all time.
Kerr is a 5-time NBA champion – 4 of those were one in succession with the Chicago Bulls. Kerr is the current coach of the Golden State Warriors, where Stephen Curry plays, and is tipped to coach the National Team soon.
