City of Charleston, Charleston Redevelopment Corporation to Host Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for New Affordable Housing
UPDATE: Due to the continued forecast of rain this afternoon, the ribbon cutting ceremony will take place inside the front lobby of the North Central Apartments at 1054 King Street.

Charleston Mayor John J. Tecklenburg, Charleston City Councilmember Robert M. Mitchell, and Charleston Redevelopment Corporation Chairman Eli Poliakoff will take part in a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the acquisition of the North Central Apartments located at 1054 King Street. The ceremony will take place at 2 pm on Tuesday, June 28th in front of the building.

Charleston Redevelopment Corporation, through its Palmetto Land Trust program has acquired the North Central apartments to permanently preserve these units as affordable housing. The City of Charleston provided $1.5 million towards the $5 million investment by the Charleston Redevelopment Corporation. The apartments are being held in the Palmetto Community Land Trust to preserve affordability in perpetuity.
