YesAndventures Improv Group to Combine Comedy with Dungeons and Dragons
Like Dungeons and Dragons? Like improv comedy? If you do, you can now see the best of both worlds when YesAndventures, a comedy improv group, takes the stage at Old Trolley Theatre in Summerville on Friday, July 8th at 8 pm. YesAndventures is made up of company members from Charleston’s own Theatre 99.
The show combines improvisation inspired by Dungeons and Dragons, the famous role playing fantasy game that relies on a dungeon master and a 20-sided die to determine what happens in a scene. The improv actors incorporate costumes and must abide by what the die says.
The Dungeon Master takes audience suggestions to create a world that the improvisers play in and furthers the story along when a character makes a bold, definitive choice in the scene. The die determines how the scene goes, 10 or higher, it is a success, but if it is 10 or lower, that’s not good news for the adventurers.
