Pick Me! SC: Adoption Top 900 Halfway Through Statewide Event
The statewide Pick Me! SC adoption event continues through Sunday, with dozens of shelters, rescue organizations, and Petco locations around the state joining forces for this statewide adoption event.
The 10-day event is powered by Petco Love, in partnership with BOBS from Skechers. Pick Me! SC is organized by No Kill South Carolina 2024 an initiative of Charleston Animal Society. The goal is to save 1,500 lives through adoptions. Most shelters and adoption centers are offering “no-fee” or “low-fee” adoptions as part of this lifesaving event.
“We wanted to send this update out as an urgent plea for everyone to please visit their local shelters this week,” said the Chief Project Officer of No Kill South Carolina 2024 Abigail Appleton, PMP, CAWA. “We are thrilled at the hundreds of adoptions so far, but we are still seeing a summer influx of homeless animals across the state and shelters are overcrowded in every region of South Carolina. Can you make room for one more?”
Petco stores will host shelters and rescue organizations to reach even more potential adopters. Almost every Petco location across South Carolina is participating, but be sure to contact your area store for more information.
