SC Department of Education and Community Partners to Host Event Celebrating Summer Food Service Program
The South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) and community partners will host a celebration event for the annual Summer Food Service Program (Summer Break Café) on Friday, July 15th at MUSC Children’s Health R. Keith Summey Medical Pavilion. The event will be followed by a tour of the Lowcountry Food Bank, which prepares meals for the MUSC site.
The Summer Break Café program is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and provides free meals to children 18 and under from June to August. Summer Break Cafés are held at SCDE approved sites such as parks, libraries, churches, and schools.
