Local Law Firm Files First Administrative Claim on Behalf of Camp LeJeune Contaminated Water Victims

Local law firm Poulin | Willey | Anastopoulo said they are believed to be the first in the nation to file a claim for administrative relief immediately after President Joe Biden’s signing of the Camp LeJeune Justice Act. That signing allows victims who were injured due to the consumption of contaminated water while working, visiting, or living in Camp LeJeune, North Carolina, to file administrative claims which will then allow the filing of lawsuits should the administrative claims not be successful.

“The signing of this bill is a massive victory for the Camp LeJeune Community and we are proud to be able to join the fight in representing those who are going to be affected by it,” said Paul Doolittle, the firm’s Chair of Class Actions & Mass Torts.

That signing allows victims who have Camp Lejeune water contamination symptoms or were injured due to the consumption of contaminated water while working, visiting, or living in Camp LeJeune, North Carolina, to file administrative claims which will then allow the filing of lawsuits should the administrative claims not be successful.

From the 1950s through the 1980s, people living, working, and visiting Marine Corp Base Camp LeJeune were exposed to drinking water contaminated with industrial solvents, benzene, and other chemicals. In the years that have followed, these chemicals have been tied to a litany of medical issues, including various forms of cancer, including lymphoma and brain cancer, which previously were unrecoverable.

Poulin | Willey | Anastopoulo said they look forward to assisting Veterans and their families in receiving the benefits they fought so hard to earn. If you or someone you know worked, lived, or visited Camp LeJeune between 1953-1987, you may be eligible for compensation.
