Volunteers Needed For 2022 Beach ‘n Chilifest
MYRTLE BEACH, SC. (August 10, 2022) – Beach ‘n Chilifest and the 55th Annual World Championship Chili Cook-off (WCCC) is returning to Burroughs & Chapin Pavilion Place on Sept. 23-25 and is seeking volunteers to lend a hand.
“It was incredible to see the local support that came out and volunteered last year,” said Tara McMeans, WCCC’s Volunteer Coordinator. “The Myrtle Beach community is full of amazing people and organizations that welcome guests with open arms and helpful hands.”
In its 55th year in existence and 2nd year in Myrtle Beach, WCCC is not just any old cook-off. It is the culmination of a year-long chili cooking season. Only winners of International Chili Society (ICS) sanctioned events are invited to WCCC for the chance to claim the title of World Champion and their portion of a $75,000 prize purse.
In addition to a world championship chili cook-off, this year’s Beach ‘n Chili Fest will host car shows; a Family Fun Zone; live stage entertainment, including musical performances and a special appearance from everyone’s favorite chili cook, Brian Baumgartner (“Kevin Malone” from “The Office” tv series); and much more.
Volunteers will get to see the inner workings of a professional chili competition, assist with the event production, and meet “Chilheads” from across the nation. They will also receive a commemorative t-shirt, complimentary food during shift breaks and volunteer hours if needed for your organization. Register to volunteer online at www.eatgreatchili.com/get-
Community groups, schools or anyone interested in registering a large group to volunteer, please contact Tara McMeans at tara@worldfoodchampionships.
