Cunningham-Casey Campaign Releases Statement in Response to Henry McMaster’s new TV Ad

Tyler Jones, the spokesman for the Joe Cunningham-Tally Casey campaign, today released the following statement on Governor Henry McMaster’s new campaign ad

“Henry McMaster now realizes his dangerous support for a total abortion ban with no exceptions may very well cost him this election and end his 40-year political career. So instead of listening to an overwhelming majority of South Carolinians who disagree with his prehistoric positions on women’s rights, he is resorting to attacking and lying about Joe Cunningham to distract voters from his plot to rip freedom away from half of South Carolina’s population.

Make no mistake: Henry McMaster is a threat to freedom in South Carolina and he believes people need the government to tell us how to live our lives. Meanwhile, he’s been unwilling to tackle the issues actually affecting South Carolinans. Crime is at an all-time high under his watch, our roads are the worst in the nation, and teachers are leaving in droves. Henry McMaster is so out of touch with the people of South Carolina that he actually thinks highlighting Joe’s support for marijuana legalization in an ad is a bad thing. McMaster wants to control your life, probably because he can’t seem to control anything else in South Carolina.

But one thing is undeniably true: you don’t attack your opponent in your first TV ad unless you’re worried. Henry McMaster is worried. As he should be.”
