College of Charleston Earns High Praise in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges Rankings
The College of Charleston is one of the top universities in the South, according to the 2023 edition of Best Colleges by U.S. News & World Report. In the latest edition of the report, the College moved up to No. 4 in the category of “Top Regional Public University in the South.”
Other 2023 U.S. News & World Report rankings for the College of Charleston include:
- Best Regional Universities in the South – No. 9
- Best Colleges for Veterans: Regional Universities in the South – No. 3
- Most Innovative Schools: Regional Universities in the South – No. 2
- Undergraduate Teaching: Regional Universities in the South – No. 7
- A+ School for B Student: Regional Universities in the South – No. 5
- Best Undergraduate Business – No. 190
“The College of Charleston continues to be recognized as a top university in the region and is celebrated for its extraordinary educational opportunities,” says CofC President Andrew T. Hsu. “I am especially proud that the College is seen as a leader in the areas of undergraduate teaching, undergraduate business education and veteran services. The ranking as a most-innovative school is particularly gratifying, especially in light of our strategic plan’s focus on innovations – proving that, although we may be old, we are still bold in how we think and approach learning.”
The U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings of 1,500 colleges and universities are based on 17 indicators, including faculty resources, student outcomes, institutional reputation and alumni giving. The Best Colleges rankings have been published since 1983.
Last month, The Princeton Review and Fiske Guide named the College of Charleston as one of the best institutions for undergraduate education in America.
