South Carolina Ranked as the 5th Worst State to Visit this Fall
To come up with the ranking, the website compared compared the 50 states based on 20 indicators of a “breathtaking and fun fall trip.” Those indicators include things like outdoor access, number of state parks and hiking trails, as well as fall-themed amusements like pumpkin patches, corn mazes, and hayrides. They also considered how long fall foliage is visible.

- Number of Scenic Drives – 40th
- Number of Hiking Trails – 40th
- Corn Mazes per 100,000 Residents – 43rd
- Hurricane Risk – 46th
