Women Brewers Join The Undergarment Society To ‘Lift Up’ Women In Need
On November 2nd, women brewers will join The Undergarment Society for an event to raise funds and to collect new bras and underwear for women experiencing homelessness in South Carolina. The Brewster event, which will run from 5 pm to 8 pm, is a ‘party with a purpose’ and will be co-hosted by the Tradesman Brewing Co.
The Undergarment Society (The US) understands that every person is worthy of honor and respect and this begins with providing the basic necessity of undergarments for those who lack access or can’t afford them. The US encourages volunteers to host events called ‘Party with a Purpose’ to collect new bras and underwear.
Sara Gayle McConnell, co-founder of Tradesman Brewing Co. and founder of Brewster, believes in giving women the opportunity to get into the brewery business. Brewster has became an acronym meaning: “Building Relationships + Empowering Women Striving To Exist Responsibly.” With this in mind, the Brewster party will be pouring 8 handcrafted Brewster beers made in collaboration with 6 local breweries and women. The Party will take place on the patio at Tradesman and tickets will be sold for the patio beers with 100% of the proceeds to benefit The Undergarment Society. Tickets will be $4 per half pint and $8 for a full pint. Rikiquito will also be on site serving up Venezuelan fare.
“As the benefactor, we are grateful to Tradesman Brewing Co. for the opportunity to co-host an event where ‘women in beer’ support these women in need” said US board member, Dolores Gregory.
Tradesman Brewing Co. is located at 1647 King Street Extension, Charleston.
