Why Should You Buy the New Apple Watch 8?

Published

on

Like the Vulkan Vegas cashback, the Apple Watch Series 8 gives you back something. It tells you how your health is. For one, it has sensors that track your temperature and can even provide you with data about ovulation.

So, is the Apple Watch Series 8 something you should buy? Below are some of the best reasons you should buy this latest release.

1. Bigger Screen

Apple finally decided to increase the screen size of the watch. The thing is that it is only 1 millimetre larger than its predecessor. Despite that, the overall impact is that it has 20% more screen size.

This benefit is that it is easier to see what is on it. In addition, the bigger screen gives you a better experience interacting with the device. Apple also made it so that the display is now edge-to-edge.

Besides the screen size, most of the design is reminiscent of the Apple Watch 7. However, this version received more upgrades under the hood than the aesthetics.

2. Always-on Display

The watch now has an always-on display, and it is what a watch should be. The previous versions required you to touch the screen or shake your wrist before the screen woke up. At last, you can now use the Apple Watch as a real watch.

3. Track Anything

Whatever it is that you do, the new Apple Watch can track anything that goes on in your active body. You can walk, run, stand, and the watch will gather data for you to review later on. The watch even has personalized coaching content for you.

In addition to this, the watch has smart applications that track data based on your regimen. So, if you do strength training, it will track metrics for strength training. If you do Pilates or yoga, it will track the stats you need specific to these exercises.

You can also train in new ways because you can now measure advanced metrics like power, elevation, and heart rate zones.

4. Great for Swimming

The Apple Watch Series 8 is water resistant for 50 meters. That is deep enough to do your diving, swimming, and surfing.

However, one should exercise caution. Water resistant does not mean waterproof. While it can handle deep dives, it is not impenetrable.

The watch can handle immersion, shock, and vibrations. It is military-grade, but it is not a submarine. It will give in to pressure if you take it underwater deep enough.

As a water-resistant device, it merely protects the electric components inside from sweat and rain. You also do not have to worry about getting it wet when you wash your hands. It is also dust resistant, but the bracelets or bands you use are not water-resistant.

5. Fast Charging

The new Apple Watch can recharge from 0 to 80% in about 45 minutes. You can expect a full charge in just over an hour.

This is a big deal because it is twice faster as its predecessors. The past models took at least 90 minutes to charge to 80% and much longer to charge to 100%.

Is It Worth Buying?

Well, that depends. The updates on the operating system and chip are minor. Even if the new watch uses an S8 chip, it does not really translate to faster performance.

The new temperature sensor and the crash detector make it worth your while. In addition, it can help you in case of emergencies.

We can say that if you already have an Apple Watch 7, there is nothing much going on here unless you want more health trackers. If you have an Apple Watch already four years old, upgrading to this version is also a good idea.

It also makes sense to buy this watch if you want bigger storage. Previous versions only had 16GB, while this has 32GB storage capacity.

Overall, we highly recommend the Apple Watch Series 8 if your primary reason for buying is your health. This watch has new apps and sensors to help you achieve your physical fitness goals. The apps are far better than what you can download from the store.

Perhaps the Apple Watch Series 8 has fewer upgrades than the Watch 7. However, it does use the S8 chip, plus it now has a skin temperature sensor. The watch uses a skin sensor to track your temperature when you sleep at night.

The Series 8 also has a crash detection property. The device can sense if the user has had an accident and can automatically call emergency services or contacts that you programmed.
