Expanding the Table Receives Donations from Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation

Summerville, SC – Expanding the Table has received $1,500 from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation to help feed neighbors in their time of need. Expanding the Table will use the gift to purchase food to continue its effort in feeding the hungry. Expanding the Table feeds 130 meals per week to the underserved members of our community. Simply we feed people, no questions asked.

John Walker, CEO, and the Board of Directors would like to thank the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation for awarding this $1,500 grant to Expanding the Table. This grant will be able to provide needed food items for us to prepare hot meals for those in need in the Summerville area.

Expanding the Table is a local certified non-profit that has served over 5, 500 meals, and over 2,500 sandwiches in the last 10 months to those underserved members of our community. The Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation is committed to supporting families facing food insecurity across its 10-state footprint. Established in 2001, the foundation provides financial support for programs and organizations dedicated to feeding local neighbors in the communities it serves. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded more than $16 million in grants.
