Press Release

SC Works Trident today announced the availability of Incumbent Worker Training (IWT) funds, which provide employers an opportunity to upgrade the skills of their current workforce through reimbursable training services and expenses.

The funding, which is being made available under the Workforce Innovations and Opportunity Act, can be used to cover the cost of training related to expansion, new technology, new services/product lines, new organizational structuring or to be used as part of a layoff aversion strategy. Please note that reimbursements cannot be made for expenditures that occurred prior to the agreement period.

In order to be eligible to receive funding, employers must be up-to-date on all South Carolina state tax obligations, have at least one full-time employee and document at least 6 months of employment history with any potential trainees.

Applications for IWT funding are available at www.scworkstrident.org and must be submitted to Sharon Goss at sharong@bcdcog.com by 2 pm on Friday, December 2, 2022.

For more information on eligibility requirements and assistance with the application process, please contact Sharon Goss, SC Works Trident Workforce Development Director, at 843-529-2582 or via email at sharong@bcdcog.com.
