Colleton Medical Hosts Community Blood Drive that Also Benefits the Colleton County Animal Shelter
One of the hardest hit and least talked about organizations during the holiday season is local blood banks, but you can help. Colleton Medical Center is pleased to once again join forces with The Blood Connection to host a community blood drive on Thursday, January 5th, from 10 am to 3 pm.
As a community hospital, Colleton Medical Center is excited to partner with a different nonprofit at each blood drive. For every blood donation on January 5th a $20 donation will be made to the Friends of Colleton County Animal Shelter.
Colleton Medical Center will also be collecting the below items (for the shelter) during the blood drive:
- Puppy and Kitten Food
- Cat Litter
- New or used towels/hand towels
- Blue Dawn Dish Soap
- Paper Towels
- Multi-purpose Cleaner
- Cardboard box tops
The blood drive will be held at the Colleton Ambulatory Surgery Center located at 304 Medical Park Drive. Blood donors must be healthy, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be 17 years old or 16 with written parental consent. Donors must bring a valid photo ID.
Walk-ins are welcome. Appointments are preferred. Visit thebloodconnection.org/donate or call (864) 255-5000 to make an appointment for the January 5 Blood Drive.
