Rep. Nancy Mace Votes “No” on Omnibus Spending Package
Rep. Nancy Mace on Friday voted against passing the fiscal year ’23 omnibus bill that will fund the government through September 2023. The Senate passed the measure on Thursday in a 68-29 vote and the House on Friday passed it 225-201-1.
“We know it’s Christmas, but would you really let your friend run up the bar tab and leave you hanging with the bill,” Rep. Mace said. “The Omnibus doesn’t balance the budget, has no spending offsets and runs up the deficit. And don’t get us started on the waste and pork. We cannot keep doing this. The federal government hasn’t done a true budget in 30 years.”
The bill now heads to the White House, where President Biden is expected to approve the funding measure.
