Press Release

On Monday, February 13th, construction crews will begin work on the Camp Road Sidewalk and Riverland Drive Multi-use Path Project. There will be shoulder closures throughout the day and potential lane closures. Any full lane closures would only occur between 9 am and 2 pm.

The Camp Road Sidewalk and Riverland Drive Multi-use Path Project includes the installation of a new 6-foot wide sidewalk along Camp Road, from Camp Road Middle School to Riverland Drive, and a new 10-foot wide multi-use path along Riverland Drive to the Lowcountry Senior Center. Over the next two weeks, residents can expect to see crews working on the south side of Camp Road from Yorktown Drive to Riverland Drive doing clearing work and utility relocations in preparation for the installation of drainage infrastructure and concrete sidewalk. Construction is scheduled to continue through September of this year.

The project is a Charleston County Transportation Committee (CTC) project that is funded by state gas tax “C” funds and federal grant funding.
