Dorchester County Accepting Applications for the 2023 Summer Youth Employment Program

Dorchester County is now accepting applications for the 2023 Summer Youth Employment Program. This program is designed to provide teenagers and young adults who reside in Dorchester County an opportunity to develop workplace readiness skills and gain experience in local government. A variety of opportunities are available within Dorchester County Government in office administration, customer service, and the field of general labor. 

Individuals must meet the following criteria:

• Be between the ages of 16 – 22 at the time of application submission.
• Be currently enrolled in high school or college (proof of enrollment is required).
• Be a resident of Dorchester County.
• Be able to attend the mandatory orientation on June 19.
• Be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.

This eight-week program begins on Monday, June 19, and ends on Friday, August 4.

Applications can be submitted online via this website. The application deadline is 5:00 PM on May 22. Applicants without access to a computer may visit the Dorchester County Human Resources Department (201 Johnston Street, St. George, SC 29477) or any Dorchester County Library to apply online.
