South Carolina ETV Receives Three Southeast EMMY Nominations
The Regional Southeast EMMY® Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) recently announced nominations for the 2023 Southeast Regional EMMY® Awards.
Three South Carolina ETV (SCETV) programs were nominated for these prestigious awards:
From the Sky- “South Carolina at Night”
Category: Historical/Cultural, Short Form Content
South Carolina’s landscape is as diverse as those who call it home. From the Sky is a digital series that offers viewers a glimpse into the cities and towns of South Carolina from a “not often seen” vantage point… from above. The “South Carolina at Night” episode aired on January 14, 2022, and is nominated in the Historical/Cultural, Long Form Content category. From the Sky is produced by Charles Dymock and Ned Garnier. Support for this program is provided by the ETV Endowment of South Carolina.
Making it Grow- “Anagama Kiln: Firesong”

Making It Grow is produced in partnership with Clemson University and offers research-based information on a variety of gardening, agricultural, and environmental topics, while also highlighting interesting places and products from around South Carolina. The “Anagama Kiln: Firesong” episode of Making It Grow aired on Aug. 2, 2022, and is nominated in the Historical/Cultural, Short Form Content. The episode features a communal firing technique that dates back to 5th century Japan.
This Week in South Carolina- “Seventh Congressional District”

This Week in South Carolina (TWISC) highlights one topic each week with political leaders, newsmakers and policymakers in South Carolina. Gavin Jackson, SCETV’s news and public affairs reporter, hosts the weekly public affairs program. Nominated in the Politics/Government, Long Form Content category, the “Seventh Congressional District” episode of TWISC aired on June 10, 2022 and includes work by Gavin Jackson, Aimee Crouch and Renee Layson. This special episode includes an in-depth look at the primary race in South Carolina’s district seven leading up to election day.
The 49th Annual Southeast Regional EMMY® Awards will be announced by the Regional Southeast EMMY® Chapter of NATAS on June 17 at the Grand Hyatt in Buckhead Atlanta.
NATAS sets the standards for excellence in the television broadcasting industry and holds the honor of presenting The Prime Time EMMY® Awards and the Daytime EMMY® Awards.
The Regional Southeast EMMY® Chapter is one of 19 chapters throughout the United States identifying and celebrating television excellence at the local and regional levels. The Southeast Chapter represents television professionals from all disciplines of the industry and from markets in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina and North Carolina.
