In anticipation of the 54th annual World Series of Poker (WSOP), hundreds of poker enthusiasts have flocked to the Las Vegas Strip. The 50-day-long championship series will lead to the year’s most awaited tournament, the $10,000 buy-in Main tournament.

Between May 30th to July 18th, a total of 129 bracelets may be won across 34 virtual competitions and 95 live contests at the Paris and Horseshoe casinos. However, nearly a thousand players have earned a spot in the 2023 WSOP Tournament of Champions. Let’s discover more.

The Tournament of Champions (TOC)

There’s a lot of hype around the World Series of Poker Main Event. But it’s important not to overlook the “Tournament of Champions,” which features the WSOP’s other iconic event winners, which you can read more about at https://holycitysinner.com/2023/05/27/riverdogs-and-fireflies-postponed-saturday-at-segra-park/.

The current or previous WSOP Circuit series winners can enter the $1 million freeroll championship known as the Tournament of Champions (TOC). Participants who have won a gold ring at a live or virtual circuit event or a bracelet via the internet or live event, such as the WSOP Europe, are automatically entered into this tournament.

The occasion happened toward the conclusion of the series in 2022. 2023’s TOC will begin on Wednesday, May 31st, the first day of the live series, and will last for three days. All that is required to attend this free tournament is a WSOP Circuit bracelet or gold ring from the 2022–2023 season. In addition to the cash reward, the victor of this hallmark event will also get a much sought-after gold bracelet.

There will be $1,000,000 up for grabs at the 2023 WSOP TOC, and 960 players have already qualified to play for their share. This indicates that everyone registering for the tournament has an expected value of more than $1,000. Almost a thousand people are entering the glory event, making it the greatest $1 million freeroll championship in WSOP history.

WSOP 2023 Schedule

The summer of 2023 will have 95 live events at Paris and Horseshoe as part of the World Series of Poker, with another 34 bracelet events taking place virtually.

The Casino Employees Tournament, the regular season opener, will kick off the competition on May 30th. In addition, a Six-Handed High Roller tournament with a $25,000 buy-in will start on the same day. You can find more information about the highlights at https://www.legaluspokersites.com/wsop/

A Rundown of the 2023 World Series of Poker TOC Qualifiers

If you’re curious about the specifics of the qualifiers’ paths to victory, we’ve got you covered.

Four hundred and ninety-five of the 960 players who have qualified for the TOC event have done so by winning seats at live WSOP Circuit tournaments, while fifteen more did so at 2022’s WSOP festival in Europe. The World Series of Poker Circuit featured tournaments open to US and foreign players.

After competing in over a dozen WSOP US Tournaments hosted this year, 343 participants were victorious. Sixty-two have made it to the finals via the Cherokee Tournament in North Carolina. In terms of participation, the Grand Victoria Tournament in Chicago, Illinois, has qualified the most participants (29), followed by the Choctaw Durant (43).

The other 450 players are those who qualified to play virtually. There are 337 participants from the four-state WSOP.com US network, 82 from WSOP’s unique global partner GGPoker, and 31 from GGPoker Ontario.

One hundred forty players qualified using the World Series of Poker NJ/NV collaborative network, 103 through the PA platform, and 94 through the MI platform, which also operates on a separate network.

Conclusion

The World Series of Poker 2023 lineup includes events with buy-ins ranging from $300 for the new Gladiators of Poker tournament to $250k for the Super High Roller event. The majority of buy-ins, fortunately for the majority of participants, vary anywhere from $1,000 to $10k.
