SC Whitmore School A Winner of the State of South Carolina Top Workplaces 2023 Award
Press Release
Columbia, SC Whitmore School (SCWS), a virtual public high school and member school of the SC Public Charter School District, has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2023 honor by The South Carolina Top Workplaces. The list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC. The confidential survey uniquely measures 15 culture drivers that are critical to the success of any organization: including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.
“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “That’s something to be proud of. In today’s market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That’s paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”
SCWS was granted a charter by the South Carolina Public Charter School District and was opened in 2011. Since 2011, over 1000 South Carolina students have graduated from SCWS. The vast majority of those students were not on track towards graduation prior to enrolling at SCWS.
SC Whitmore School Principal, Eboné Adams said, “We have been blessed with such a wonderful group of educators and staff members who continuously dedicate their time and effort into making our school as special as it is. We have always believed that SC Whitmore is not just a place of learning but a safe environment where individuals can thrive and reach their fullest potential. This achievement highlights our commitment to professional development and growth opportunities for our faculty and staff. We empower one another to evolve and excel in our respective roles. We will continue to create an environment that fosters a sense of belonging, purpose, and fulfillment.”
SCWS is a great fit for many students. Perhaps you are an accelerated student and wish to graduate early, or you need more time to find academic success. Perhaps you need a flexible school schedule to chase other dreams. Being a virtual school, SCWS can offer a unique learning environment for our students.
SC Whitmore School Executive Director, Kim Dunbar said, “We are so honored to be named a winner of the State of South Carolina Top Workplaces. We strive to create a positive culture which demonstrates a supportive and safe environment for faculty and staff. When our amazing educators and staff have a voice and the resources they need and deserve, our students benefit immensely. We will continue to grow and improve by listening to our stakeholders and being a top workplace in South Carolina.”
