SC Works Trident to Host Welding & Fitting Student Enrollment Interviews in Partnership with W International

SC Works Trident and readySC will co-host enrollment interviews for prospective welding and fitting students in partnership with W International, a local advanced metal fabricator that provides support for the production of U.S. Navy submarines and surface vessels, from 7 am to 10 am on Saturday, June 24th. It will be heldat 2040 Bushy Park Road in Goose Creek.

During the event, attendees will hear from W International representatives and have the opportunity to interview on-the-spot. No previous training or experience is required.

Once accepted, participants will undergo a paid training course, receiving $14/hr., to attain a W International weld certification. Following the successful completion of training, participants will be eligible to begin full-time work immediately at a rate of $21/hr., which will include building large components for a new fleet of submarines and aircraft carriers in support of national defense efforts.

W International Chief Administrative Officer Michelle Fowler said, “Let W International support your career start up and growth! On June 24th, join us for some hands-on welding experience as we work to onboard welding and fitting students.”

Eligible participants must be U.S. citizens, 18-years or older with a valid state-issued ID and high school diploma/GED equivalent.

Attendees should plan to bring a resume to the event or complete an application upon arrival, and wear full-length pants and closed-toe shoes.
