Dorchester School District Two Teacher Presents at International Conference
A veteran Dorchester School District Two teacher presented to 17,000 attendees at the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) National Conference in Philadelphia on June 28th.
Modern Learning Specialist Jenna Bohannon (above) shared her insight during her presentation, “A Love Letter to Laying the Foundation: Primary Level Digital Citizenship.” Emphasizing the importance of teaching students how to use technology responsibly and ethically, starting at the primary elementary level, Mrs. Bohannon discussed being safe online, protecting privacy, and empowering students to leverage technology as a tool for learning, creativity, and collaboration. The presentation illustrated that teaching digital citizenship helps students to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills and to become responsible and ethical digital citizens who positively contribute to the online community.
“Representing Dorchester School District Two at ISTELive23 was an incredible opportunity to showcase the hard work our Education Technology Team, teachers, and students are doing in the area of Digital Citizenship and Ed Tech,” said Mrs. Bohannon. “I was honored to give our district a voice on an international level and connect with leaders in Ed Tech.”
This international recognition builds on her local achievements. In 2019, she was chosen as the Knightsville Elementary School Teacher of the Year and a District Honor Teacher of the Year.
