Berkeley County Library System (BCLS) will co-host Gardening in the South: Planting Fall Vegetables with Christopher Burtt, Clemson University Cooperative Extension Area Horticulture Agent, for Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester Counties, on Thursday, August 10, 2023 from 1 pm to 2 p.m.  The event will take place at Goose Creek Library, located at 325 Old Moncks Corner Rd., Goose Creek. Please register at berkeleylibrarysc.libcal.com/event/10864228.  Registration opens at 1 p.m. on July 27.

Burtt, who is a Clemson University Cooperative Extension Area Horticulture Agent, will discuss planting fall vegetables.  He has worked with Clemson University for over five years with previous experience in nursery and landscaping.  He coordinates the Tri-County Master Gardener program and assists homeowners and nurseries with technical support.

“Though summer is still here, the time to plant your fall vegetables is fast approaching,” Burtt said. “We will discuss what to plant for the fall and when, as well as troubleshoot various common issues associated with the season.”
