Charleston County to Host Hazard Expo in August
Press Release
The Charleston County Building Inspections Department will host a Hazard Expo August 12th and 13th at Trident Technical College. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn about natural hazards that could threaten the Lowcountry.
“Over the last two years, we’ve had a large influx of people from other states who may have never experienced a hurricane, flooding, or an earthquake,” said Charleston County Building Inspections Director Hakim Bayyoud. “This will be a fun, family-friendly event, where residents can learn about best practices when it comes to preparation and the types of hazards that we are prone to experiencing here in the Lowcountry.”
The event will also include giveaways, a DJ and dance floor for the kids, and a local celebrity guest appearance. There are several Charleston County Departments and local community partners participating including: Charleston County Emergency Management, Charleston County’s GIS Department, The College of Charleston, The Citadel, Red Cross, and the South Carolina Climatology Office.
The event will be held from 10 am to 4 pm both days at Trident Technical College located at 7000 Rivers Avenue in Building 920, suite 107.
