Republic DMG to Open Lamar’s Sporting Club on King Street

Republic Development & Management Group (Republic DMG), the local hospitality group from Lamar and Leva Bonaparte, has announced plans to open Lamar’s Sporting Club in the former home of 1st Place (570 King Street). The new venture is described as a “premier sporting club experience” and is slated to open this summer.

At the heart of the venue lies the crown jewel, an exceptional sporting club boasting the city’s finest selection of classic cocktails, ensuring an unmatched experience for our guests.”

Lamar’s Sporting Club will be a 2,000-square-foot lounge with dark wood paneling, subdued lighting, leather banquettes and sofas, and cocktail tables. Republic says there will also be antique-inspired elements such as modern-vintage artwork, eclectic bookshelves, and wildlife on display.

The menu will include handcrafted classic cocktails, a selection of premium spirits, beer, wine, and more. Additionally, live entertainment will be available on select days.

While Lamar’s Sporting Club will remain exclusive for reservation-only nightlife experiences, it will be available to the general public during the day. In addition, the venue will be available for private events and buyouts where guests will be able to host celebrations, corporate gatherings, etc.

Republic DMG is also at the helm Bourbon N’ Bubbles, Republic Garden & Lounge, and MESU, all located on King Street in Downtown Charleston.
