I Serve With Joy Announces “Back 2 School With Joy” Drive
Press Release
I Serve With Joy has announced the next installment of their Back 2 School With Joy Drive to connect local charities and businesses toward the common goal of helping underprivileged students. Backpacks and supplies will be accepted until Saturday, August 19th at designated locations to fill over 250 backpacks with supplies that will then be donated for local charity back to school giveaways across South Carolina. Live on-site activations to bring items to ‘pack a backpack’ will be held Friday, August 11th from 5 pm to 8 pm at Sticky Fingers Ribhouse (5060 Dorchester Rd. N. Chas), Thursday, August 17th from 4 pm to 6 pm at Golden Corral with Z93 Jamz broadcasting live and Saturday, August 19th from 10 am to 1 pm at AT&T (1700 Shoremeade Dr., Mt. Pleasant) with 95SX broadcasting live.
I Serve With Joy aims to continue to meet the community where the need is the greatest and is a resource bearer to organizations who can best respond to the ever-changing needs of their respective communities. Their grassroots Back 2 School Drive unites businesses, nonprofits and the general public to take action in equipping kids with the tools needed to excel for a successful school year. Supplies being collected include paper, pencils, erasers, folders, glue sticks, crayons, colored pencils, scissors, clear backpacks and more.
“We remain attuned to the community’s needs and have cultivated an expansive network to swiftly address gaps with creative solutions,” affirms Joy Campbell, Executive Director of I Serve With Joy. “In the past year, we observed a surge in standalone back-to-school events. However, resources were strained, and demand surpassed availability. As a result, we stepped in as a bridge to pool resources and collaborate closely with local organizations, driving forward their charitable endeavors.”
This Friday, August 11th, I Serve With Joy has partnered with Sticky Fingers Ribhouse as one of their B2S With Joy Drive events encouraging attendees to bring school supplies for a chance to win a Sticky Fingers gift card. While supplies last, hygiene products and Bombas socks will be distributed to elementary and high school kids, ensuring their well-being as they embark on a new school year. Parents attending the event will be provided with large bottles of hand sanitizer, emphasizing the organization’s dedication to a healthy and thriving community.
Companies can give a charitable contribution to purchase backpacks and then can fill them with items as a collaborative team-building effort. Sample packages include 50 unfilled backpacks for $200 or 50 backpack kits with supplies for $600. Contributions can be made here. Businesses can also give in-kind donations in the form of a laptop/tablet or monetary donations. In addition, individual and family donations of $5, $10 or $100 can be made online here.
