Charleston-based PR Firm Launches Sports Marketing and NIL Agency

Bold South Strategies, a local public relations, marketing, and political communications firm based in Charleston  announced the expansion of its services into the world of sports with the launch of Bold South Sports, a full-service sports marketing and NIL athlete representation agency.

The company’s licensed agents will work directly with student-athletes to secure NIL deals and elevate their personal brands.

Leading Bold South Sports as CEO is Tyler Jones, a longtime PR executive who is best known for his background in political campaigns across the state. Jones received his Athlete-Agent license by the state of South Carolina in May of 2023 and has been working towards this venture for nearly a year.

“NIL is a game-changer for student-athletes,” Jones said. “It’s fertile ground, full of opportunities but also challenges. We’ve been in the trenches of politics and marketing for over 15 years, and we know how to equip these players with the tools they need to boost their brand and help them make the most of every shot they get. We’re here to help them win, on and off the field.”

John Cassibry will serve as the company’s Vice President of Marketing,. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and a PR professional who most recently served as a Director at NP Strategy in Charleston.

Bold South Sports also announced its initial athlete signing:

  • Tyler Huff, the senior starting quarterback for Furman University’s football team.

  • Adrian Anderson, the sophomore golfer from College of Charleston’s Women’s Golf Team, First-Team all-CAA as a freshman and recently qualified and participated in the 2023 US Women’s Amateur Tournament in California.

  • Brynn Whitehair, a Charleston native and junior outside hitter for the College of Charleston Women’s Volleyball team.

  • Maiya Parrous, a senior midfielder for College of Charleston’s Women’s Soccer and a Fayetteville, NC native.

  • Adaora Onwumelu, a senior forward for College of Charleston Women’s Basketball, transferred to CofC from Auburn.

  • Titus Sandy, Jr., a senior soccer player for Clemson and a member of the 2021 National Championship team.
