South Carolina Ranks in the Top 20 Happiest States in America – WalletHub Study

Personal finance website WalletHub this week released a report on 2023’s Happiest States in America and South Carolina was named the 20th happiest in the country.

To determine where Americans have the highest satisfaction with life, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 30 key indicators of happiness. The data set ranges from the depression rate and the share of adults feeling productive to income growth and the unemployment rate.

Happiness in South Carolina (1=Happiest; 25=Avg.):

• 24^th – % of Depressed Adults
• 23^rd – Suicide Rate
• 30^th – Separation & Divorce Rate
• 16^th – Income Growth
• 27^th – Commute Time
