Harold’s Cabin + The Pickled Beat Announce the Return of Holiday-Themed Bars
Harold’s Cabin & The Pickled Beat, located at 247 Congress Street, has announced the return of the popular “Holiday Bars” for the 2023 season. Beginning on Tuesday, October 3rd, the team will launch “Hitchcock Halloween” followed by “White Christmas” on Tuesday, November 14th which will run until early January 2024.
For the second year in a row, Harold’s Cabin has partnered with designer Brittany Brandt to bring their Hitchcock and White Christmas themes to life. In early October, the upstairs space at Harold’s Cabin, which now houses the vintage-style lounge ‘The Pickled Beat,’ will undergo a floor-to-ceiling transformation in anticipation of the 2023 holiday season.
In addition to the instantly recognizable upside-down tree and semi-private rooftop ‘Cabin Igloo’ which seats eight guests, patrons can also expect a number of decorations that allude to some of the Master of Suspense’s most iconic films like Psycho, Birds, and North by Northwest. In November, the indoor space will be fitted with white Christmas decor.
“We were thrilled that our 2022 holiday bars were as big of a hit as we hoped, so when planning for 2023, it was an obvious decision to bring them back,” said John Schumacher, owner of Harold’s Cabin, “The team began brainstorming almost instantaneously, and based on the things we learned from last year, we believe this year’s holiday bars will be an even greater success.”
Over-the-top holiday decorations and themed events are only a portion of what the Harold’s Cabin team has in store for the upcoming holiday season – Chefs Micah Pearson and Trey Keller and bar manager Michael DeNicola have been working to finalize imaginative holiday-inspired menus. In addition to weekly dish specials, rotating braises, stews, soups, and winter pastas will be mainstays on the fall and winter food menus.
As for the beverage program, DeNicola will introduce Harry Potter-themed cocktails in honor of ‘spooky season’ – including a boozy butter beer. In addition, DeNicola is nearing the finish of his 6-month fermented eggnog, which he began fermenting earlier this year.
Unlike last year, Harold’s Cabin will be open for Halloween on Tuesday, October 31st. If your Halloween plans include trick-or-treating around the Westside neighborhood, be sure to visit Harold’s Cabin where the team will be passing out candy via their rooftop candy chute to street-level trick-or-treaters.
The 2023 Holiday Bar event schedules and themed menus will be announced in the coming weeks. ‘Hitchcock Halloween’ will begin on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023 followed by ‘White Christmas’ on Tuesday, November 14th, 2023. To reserve the ‘Cabin Igloo,’ contact Harold’s Cabin directly at 843-793-4440.
