Battery’s Fidel Barajas Named to Week 29 USLC Team of the Week
By: Battery Media
The USL Championship announced Tuesday that Battery winger Fidel Barajas was named to the league’s Week 29 Team of the Week.
Barajas was the man of the moment against Tulsa as his brace in the first half powered Charleston to a 2-1 victory. The brace was the first of the 17-year-old’s professional career.
The Mexican youth international’s first goal set the tone for the night after he beat two Tulsa defenders and megged another with a low curling shot to the far post. Barajas’ second strike was a piece of brilliance that curled to the top corner of the net from a tight angle inside the box.
In addition to the goals, Barajas also tallied four successful dribbles, six recoveries and six duels won.
This is Barajas’ third Team of the Week selection of the season. He additionally received the honors in Weeks 3 and 20.
The Battery will look to build upon their five-match unbeaten run in their next match, on Sat., Sept. 30, against El Paso Locomotive FC in Texas. Charleston then close out the regular season with two home matches, on Oct. 7 and Oct. 14, and tickets for the games are available now via SeatGeek.com, the Battery’s exclusive digital ticketing provider.
