She Returns From War Announces New Album and Shares New Single

Americana artist She Returns From War has announced her third full-length album, Ruthless, will be released on November 10th. To celebrate the announcement, her new single “Edgefield” is now available to stream here.

“’Edgefield’ is a story about a familiar place to a lot of local Nashville folk,” She Returns From War said. “This song is about how much I miss my friends and family when I’m not in Nashville and how watching your friends lives and how they handle the hard curves can inspire you to keep doing what you know you were meant to do.”

“Ruthless took the better part of five years to make,” said She Returns From War. “The twists and turns, learning and unlearning of the industry in the last few years took me from insane highs to insane lows. I started looking inward, at what my goals were as a songwriter and a lot of that changed the way I worked with and approached people. You hear some pretty wicked combinations of stellar musicians using their talents together. Something I learned is it’s ok to put your pride down for a second in order to process change. You can still be a fierce contender by letting things go. Ruthless is what it sounds like; the gnashing teeth of reality, the closing of doors, but it can also stand for strength if you allow it. Strength to hold yourself up, and even to support others. To look reality in the face unafraid, assured of yourself and in love. Take it as long as you can get it and keep it as long as you can.”

Hailing from Charleston, Americana music artist Hunter Park is defining what it means to not only live in the modern south, but to be a trans woman and artist within this landscape.
