The public is invited to Mary Martin Gallery on November 3, 2023 for the opening reception of “Dream in Love” by Hessam Abrishami, which will be held from 5 pm to 8 pm at 143 East Bay Street.

LOVE, as well as celebration, and the joyous perspectives of life filled with bliss, gratitude, and passion, has all inspired “DREAM IN LOVE”.

Born in the ancient center of the Persian Empire in the town of Shiraz, Iran, Abrishami’s core philosophy has revolved around joyfulness and he made it his life’s mission to bring light and love to the world. And what better way to do so than through art?

Abrishami began his formal artistic education in Pietro Vanucci, Italy, at the Accademia di Belle Arti, where he was classically trained in art and attained a Master of Fine Arts. Recognizing that the center of the art world had shifted to the United States, Abrishami emigrated to the U.S. in 1984.

The signature piece is “Simple Wave” a 48” x 36” acrylic on canvas, and is the centerpiece of “DREAM IN LOVE” as it is an exemplary representation of Abrishami’s distinctive creative style. This masterwork perfectly encapsulates his unique use of figures, the dynamic flow of colors, and the breathtaking landscapes that are Abrishami’s trademark expressionism. Abrishami’s medium of choice has been acrylic on canvas since the inception of his artistic journey. This choice is because of how fast the medium dries, allowing him to continue tapped into his creative output uninterrupted.

“Simple Wave” like many others in his collection, is a captivating embodiment of Abrishami’s intention to inspire love, bliss, and the enrichment of one’s spirit. When asked if it is difficult to see a favorite painting leave in the arms of a collector, possibly never to be seen again, Abrishami said, “No, I have enjoyed making it and now I want it to bring happiness to someone else.” He goes on to express that the artwork does not belong solely to the artist, but in fact, it belongs to the people.

Abrishami’s art is his way of helping to make the world a free and joyful place. Abrishami’s approach to art is intuitive and free by nature, yet disciplined by his strong foundation in artistic fundamentals. “I chose life, love, celebration, happiness, wine, festivity, and dancing to be the chosen subject of my show ‘DREAM IN LOVE’. I want to share with the world anything and everything that is good in life.”, states Abrishami.

For the past forty years, Abrishami has brought immense joy to his many collectors world-wide. Abrishami has also exhibited in hundreds of one-man gallery shows, more than fifty group exhibitions, over thirty international exhibitions, multiple museum exhibitions, and honored having March 24th in the city of Ormond Beach, FL, “Hessam Abrishami Day”.

The artist will be at the opening reception to greet the public.
