Recovery Jam Raises $8,000 for WakeUp Carolina

The fourth-annual Recovery Jam presented by Crews Subaru today shared, through the generosity of their sponsors and attendees, that $8,000 has been presented to WakeUp Carolina.

WakeUp Carolina is a Charleston-based recovery community center (RCO) that assists Lowcountry youth and their parents with rehabilitation services such as detox, treatment, and therapy. Since 2020, they have assisted in the referral of more than 700 people to outpatient and residential recovery services. Charleston consistently outpaces national averages for those who struggle with binge drinking, drug use, and addiction. Though a wide variety of resources are available for our community members, access to helpful programs such as inpatient treatment and rehabilitation can be cost prohibitive.

“We want to thank our sponsors for being drawn to our cause,” said Ray Spellerberg, founder and chairman of the Recovery Jam. “Having the support of local businesses and our patrons allows us to provide the most we can, for people that truly want the help.”

Donations from this year’s event will be allocated to WakeUp Carolina’s Scholarship Fund, which supports treatment placement and admission costs associated.
