Dorchester County Consolidated Dispatch Staff Receive State Awards

Dorchester County Consolidated Dispatch is pleased to announce that two of its team members have received awards with the South Carolina Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (SC APCO/NENA).

Telecommunicator Ashley Sparks received the Palmetto Award, which is presented to a telecommunicator who has demonstrated outstanding service to their agency, community, and the profession of public safety communications. Sparks has been with Dorchester County Consolidated Dispatch for over four years and is consistently in the top percentage of telecommunicators for Key Performance Indicators and call answering times. She is also a highly respected member of the team, known for her positive attitude and willingness to help others.

Training Manager Rickie Wolfe received honorable mention for SC Training Coordinator of the Year which is presented to an individual who has made significant contributions to the field of public safety communications training. Wolfe has served with Dorchester County Consolidated Dispatch for over 10 years and has developed standardized training for the department which has helped to improve the quality and consistency of training provided to new and experienced telecommunicators. He has also gone above and beyond to ensure that the department is adequately staffed even when faced with challenges.

“We are incredibly proud of Ashley Sparks and Rickie Wolfe for their accomplishments and for their dedication to the safety of our citizens,” said Consolidated Dispatch Director Cora Tanton. “Receiving these awards are a testament to their hard work and commitment to excellence, and we are grateful for all they do.”
