Charleston Veterans Day Parade Scheduled for November 5th

The Ralph H. Johnson VA Health Care System’s annual Veterans Day Parade, which will be held on Sunday, November 5th, will include historic military vehicles, motorcycle groups, and Veteran’s service organization floats. This year’s parade Grand Marshal is Mr. James Putney.

This is the 23rd year the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center will be coordinating this celebratory Veterans Day parade in the City of Charleston.

The parade will kick-off at the corner of Market Street and East Bay Street with a welcome address from the Ralph H. Johnson VA Health Care System Public Affairs Chief Mr. H. Wayne Capps followed by remarks from Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg. After the remarks, the Laing Chorus will sing the national anthem and a C-17 Globemaster III will flyover from Joint Base Charleston’s 437th Airlift Wing.

The parade starts at 1 pm, while the opening remarks begin at 12:50 pm.

Parade Route:

Begins at Concord St. and Market St.

Continues West on Market St. to East Bay St.

Continues South on East Bay St. to Broad St.

Continues West on Broad St.

Ends at Colonial Lake.
