Cancer’s a Beach 5k Run/Walk
Folly Beach will be the starting point for the “Cancer’s A Beach! 5k Run/Walk” on Saturday, September 14th. The race begins at 8:30 am at the 12th Street public beach access. At the conclusion of the event, participants are invited to a post-race party at Taco Boy. There will be awards, raffles, music, and food and drink specials.
The race aims to raise awareness about head and neck cancers. Proceeds go towards the Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Alliance (OHANCAW), which promotes “free oral cancer screenings, local school talks on the causes and dangers of oral, head and neck cancer, travel assistance to low income and out of town patients, and fundraising through various events throughout the year.”
If you register before September 1st, you will pay $25 to participate. The price jumps to $30 after that date.
