65th Annual Reunion Weekend Aboard the Yorktown

The USS Yorktown Association will be holding its 65th Annual Reunion Weekend beginning tomorrow at Patriots Point. More than 150 veterans who served on the Yorktown are expected to attend the events.

The reunion includes a membership meeting, dinner aboard the ship and a memorial service for members who have died, a “meet and greet” session with those who served on the Yorktown and more. 

Here’s a look at this weekend’s reunion schedule:

Thursday, October 3rd

• 6 pm – 8:30 pm: Dinner-USO Canteen Show
  • This kickoff to the reunion includes a dinner onboard the Yorktown and a USO-style Canteen Show with classic comedy acts and music from the 40’s and 50’s.

Friday, October 4th

• 9 am – 10 am: Memorial Service
  • Remembering the Yorktown heroes who have passed away
  • Takes place in Hangar Bay I.
• 4 pm – 5:30 pm: Ladies Tea
  • Held at the Quality Inn and Suites
  • This is for the “Yorktown Ladies” only
  • Tea or wine and snacks while relaxing with a mini-manicure and massage

 Saturday, October 5th

• 10 am – 2 pm: Meet and Greet
  • Held on the USS Yorktown in Hangar Bay III
  • Visitors can spend time with Yorktown veterans
