Beer Garden Planned for Folly Beach

The Barrel, a beer garden-styled facility, is planning to open in the Charleston area. The establishment will be located at 1859 Folly Road, which you may know better as the current home to the run-down “Surf Lessons” building you would stare at when stuck in beach traffic.
The folks behind The Barrel, recently posted that they had closed on the property and will begin renovations shortly.

They were working on it on Friday when I went past. They had removed part of the cinderblock wall and cut back the marsh edge vegetation.
