One of the country’s most famous mascots, the Phillie Phanatic, is stopping in Charleston during his (her?…its?) journey to Spring Training in Florida. The mascot will be at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park on Thursday from 6 pm – 7 pm.

Charleston RiverDogs mascot Charlie T. RiverDog will being hanging with the Phanatic in the Souvenir Store for free meet-and-greets. Charleston merchandise discounts and special ticket offers will also be available during the visit.

During his appearance, the Phanatic will be presented with a proclamation from Charleston Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr.

A furry green creature, the Phillie Phanatic debuted on April 25, 1978. In 2005, it was a charter member of the Mascot Hall of Fame.
