Glazed Gourmet Featured in “Zagat”

Glazed Gourmet Doughnuts, a King Street bakery, was recently featured in Zagat‘s coverage of each state’s best doughnut.  More specifically, the magazine selected a single sweet treat that represents each state.

Glazed Gourmet’s Sweet Potato Doughnut (right) was the Palmetto State’s chosen pastry. If you aren’t hungry already, read Zagat’s description of the doughnut:

“The cake donut’s batter is made with a sweet potato purée doctored with spices like nutmeg and cayenne, and the donut is topped with a brown-butter glaze and a sprinkling of chopped, cinnamon-toasted pecans.
