Torch is Toast

In case you missed it (I know I certainly did) – downtown hookah bar Torch has gone up in smoke. The King Street lounge closed its doors for the final time back on July 19th.

A post on the venue’s Facebook page indicates that management is planning to reopen at some point, but with a brand new concept.

The post reads:

“Torch Lounge opened up in March of 2005. Long before street scape, parking meters, restaurants and foot traffic. The landscape on upper king has changed dramatically over the last 9 years and we have been exceedingly proud to be a part of it. That said we will be retiring Torch and moving forward with a concept that we feel better serves the ever changing and more discriminating clientele. Stay tuned for details…”

Will you miss the bar?

Thanks to Kinsey Giddick, Erin Perkins, and Jai Jones who directed me to this story.
