Family-Friendly NYE Celebration To Be Held in Marion Square
Events at The City of Charleston’s First Night celebration at Marion Square on 31 December 2009. The celebration is an alcohol free alternative and a family targeted event that allows people to ring in the New Year.
On Thursday, December 31st, the city of Charleston will host a free, family-friendly event in Marion Square. The free event will run from 4 pm until 10 pm.
“Happy New Year, Charleston!” offers an alcohol free, arts-focused event featuring family-oriented concerts and presentations. This year’s celebration will include:
- Live music
- Diverse Groove
- Ranky Tanky
- Midnight City
- Deninufay African Dancers and Drummers
- The Missing Links break dance crew
- Children’s activities
- Screening of Minions at 6 pm
- Storytelling
- Face painting
- Jump castles
- Arts and crafts
- Gameplay Express mobile video game theater
- Psychic readings
- Petting zoo
