Girls Rock Charleston Announces 2016 Summer Camp Dates
Girls Rock Charleston has announced that their 2016 Summer Camp will be held from July 25th through the 29th at the Palmetto Scholars Academy in North Charleston. The organization also announced that this year’s showcase will be held on Saturday, July 30th.
The camp provides workshops involving arts + activism, feminism/social justice, music, DIY, media, and instrument instruction. Attendees will have the opportunity to form a band, write a song, and perform it at a local rock venue. No musical experience is necessary, and all instruments will be provided.
The camp is available to girls and transgendered youth. Applications for campers and volunteers are now available online. The deadline is May 20th.
