Rum Runners Charleston Debuts in June
On Saturday, June 25th, the producers of the Bacon and Bourbon, will host Rum Runners, another cocktail and food-focused event, at the Memminger Auditorium.
The celebration will feature ten chefs and thirty rum distilleries paying homage to the flavors of the West Indies. A VIP Preview will be offered from 6 pm until 7:30 when the event opens to general admission ticket holders.
Guests will have access to rum cocktails like the Dark & Stormy, Mojitos, Hurricanes, and more. Participating distilleries include Pusser’s, Mount Gay, Bacardi, Plantation, Papa’s Pilar, Zacapa, Naked Turtle, Captain Morgan, Kraken, Rum Haven, Sailor Jerry, Flor de Cana, Don Q, Appleton, Baron Samedi, Ron Anejo Pampero, Myers’s, Firefly Sea Island Rum, Red Harbor Rum, Daufuskie Island Rum, Muddy River, and Striped Pig.
Local restaurants will create West Indies-inspired dishes to pair with the cocktails. Participating restaurants include Cane Rhum Bar, Victor Social Club, Charleston Caribbean Creole, The Americano, The Cocktail Club, Cherrywood, Southerly at Southern Season, Pacha Mama, and Caribbean Delight.
Activities include:
- “Drink the Plank” – The West Indies version of the Shot-Ski
- “Knot So Fast” – How many knots can you tie in a minute and can your partner escape?
- “Pirate Dice” – A dice game that gets more entertaining as the night goes on
- “Spin the Wench” – Dizzy bat meets pirate sword meets photo booth.
Tickets are $95 for VIP or $75 for general admission. These all-inclusive tickets feature unlimited samples.
