Gibbes Museum’s Annual Street Party is Thursday
This Thursday, the Gibbes Museum of Art will host its Annual Street Party from 7:30 pm until 10 pm.
The soon-to-be-reopened building will serve as the backdrop for the party while guests enjoy dishes and drinks that will be created exclusively for the event by representatives from 27 of Charleston’s most popular restaurants.
This year’s theme is “The Year of the Gibbes,” which is meant to evoke the imperial dynasty of the Forbidden City, surrounding guests in gleaming gold and vibrant red, accompanied by floating lanterns and traditional drumming. Participating chefs will create a festive Chinese-inspired menu, including roasted duck, sweet and sour seafood salad, and chargrilled Kung Pao chicken.
Tickets, which are only available for advance purchase, can be ordered here. The cost is $150 for museum members and $175 for nonmembers. All proceeds benefit the Gibbes Museum of Art.
