Breathe-PosterAs some of you know, I was selected by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) as one of Charleston’s “Best & Brightest” for 2016 and will be spending the next few months learning about the disease. I am also raising money to help the organization in its goal to control and cure cystic fibrosis (please, please, please donate to my fundraiser HERE if you can).

One of my fellow honorees is Brennen Reeves, who has cystic fibrosis (CF). From August 4th through the 6th he will be performing “Breathe. A True Story,” a one-man show he wrote, at the College of Charleston’s Simons Center for the Arts.

At eight-weeks-old Reeves was
diagnosed with the fatal lung disease and was eventually told he was going to die before his high school graduation. The only solution was to undergo a
double lung transplant. The man, now 25, will share his story on stage
in the show about his journey to live beyond the odds.

Each performance starts at 7:30 pm and benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Charleston and his alma mater, the College of Charleston Department of Theatre and Dance. Runtime is slightly over one hour. Admission is $22. Tickets are available at theatre.cofc.edu, by calling (843) 953-6306, or at the box office on show dates.

The Simons Center for the Arts is located at 54 Saint Philip St.
