T&L: Charleston is the Best U.S. City for Culture
Travel & Leisure has named Charleston the Best City for Culture in the United States. The designation was based on the results of the magazine’s “World’s Best Awards” survey.
The periodical praised the Holy City’s “arts scene, cooking schools, and historic homesteads.” They recommended that visitors take a walking tour and stop by St. Michael’s Episcopal (the church George Washington visited), the Dock Street Theatre, and Rainbow Row.
New Orleans finished second, while nearby Savannah checked in at No. 5. You can see the entire list here.
