Charleston Parks Conservancy Celebrates 10 Years with Community Party
The Charleston Parks Conservancy is commemorating a decade of connecting people to their parks and creating stunning public spaces throughout the city. To celebrate, the organization has invited the community to a 10th Birthday Bash on Saturday, March 25th at Colonial Lake.
The party will run from 11 am to 1 pm and will include:
- Entertainment
- DJ Scooby
- Kids’ Activities
- Painting with Cookies & Canvas
- Games
- Seed planting
- Food trucks
- Bark Angel canine costume contest
- Prizes for the best-dressed dog and the best dog/owner costume.
- Charleston Model Yacht Club will race sailboats in the lake
Plus, a new large oak tree will be planted to replace one lost during Hurricane Matthew. The tree will likely be planted prior to the event near the intersection of Broad Street and Rutledge Avenue.
Attendees can bring a blanket and spread out on the grass for a picnic lunch. In addition, dogs are welcome!
During this event, Ashley Avenue will be closed from Broad to Beaufain streets.
